1) What clothes should campers pack for this trip?

We recommend that students bring plenty of shorts and t-shirts with one pair of pants and one long sleeve shirt and/or light jacket for the evening when it gets cooler.  All campers should bring a swim suit, plenty of socks, and sneakers.  IAM Camp will provide laundry service mid-way through the camp.  Campers in the basketball program should bring appropriate basketball attire and campers in the music program should bring their instrument if it is portable.

2) Do we need to exchange money into US dollars and how much money should the campers bring?

Since everything is included in the price of the camp, campers do not need to bring much money with them.  We recommend they bring about 100 US dollars so they can buy souvenirs, snacks, or other items they may want while they are here.

3) How do we go about getting a travel visa?

Once the student signs up for the camp, we will provide specific details of how to obtain a travel visa to enter the U.S.

4) How can parents communicate with their children during the camp?

Campers will have access to computers to send emails home and we can show campers how to buy international calling cards if they want to call home. 

5) What do the campers eat while at the camp?

The hotel where the campers will be staying will serve an American style breakfast each morning in their dining facilities.  In the afternoons, campers will be provided a hearty lunch and an all-you-can-eat dinner is included in the camp as well.  All meals provided have been carefully selected to ensure that campers receive a high level of nutrition and are also provided the quantity of food that young adults require during their growth years.

6) How will campers be paired in their hotel rooms?

We will pair campers together who come with friends.  Otherwise, campers will be roomed together based on age and any other commonalities that we know about.

7) How will campers get to and from the airport when they arrive and depart the United States?

Once the students arrive in the U.S. all the campers’ transportation needs are met.  Students will typically take buses between destinations that require travel and will always be accompanied by official IAM Camp personnel.

8) Where is the exact location of the camp and what is the area like?

IAM Camp is located in town of Rocklin, a wealthy suburb of the city of Sacramento, CA.  Rocklin is a very safe and friendly town of about 60,000 people.  Rocklin boasts one of the top school systems in country and attracts a lot of families who put a high priority on their children’s education.
